NO GUFF This is a summary of currently-availableMudOS libs whose installation difficulty level ranges from "easy" to "moderate". The point of this page is to provide a convenient reference to those interested in trying them out. These downloads are libs bundled with the driver (with permission of the authors where required) for your convenience. Non-MudOS libs have a section below. Note about licensing: Each of these libs comes with its own licensing information. Do not assume they are public domain, or GPL, or whatever. Note about intermud: Most of these libs are designed or preconfigured to connect to the yatmim router. Please read the router info and rules if you plan on making use of that communication medium. Also, note this FAQ entry on intermud security.

NO GUFF, STILL This is a summary of currently-available libs for non-MudOS drivers. These downloads are hosted on external sites, and not LPmuds.net, because I am not involved in their development, or their easyfication, or anything about them at all. If you download them and lose your mind trying to install them, your mental health does not become my responsibility. If the link is dead or does not yield an actual download, feel free to do the research required on your own, without bothering me. Note about non-MudOS drivers and libs: MudOS development appears largely inactive. The current maintainer, Marius, has not made official releases since 2003, and has given me explicit permission to bundle and distribute libs with MudOS. Therefore, my "lib easy-fication project" involves MudOS and libs for which I can get permission to manhandle to run on it. I have not approached other driver developers yet for similar permission. The reasons are: LDmud: Lars Düning is the maintainer of LDmud. It is in active development, and I am not interested in trying to inject myself into an already-active development environment. DGD: Dworkin's Generic Driver is a clean-room re-implementation of LPC. It appears to be beautiful, powerful, and free of LP license restrictions. However, its documentation and my research make it clear to me that it is tightly controlled and incompatible with my freewheeling "let's see if I can get it to work and put it up for download" approach. Therefore, I have kept my hands off it. CD: An argument can be made that CD is *really* the original LP driver branch, because it is the driver used by Genesis, the original LPmud (which believe it or not is still in operation and by all acocunts quite successfully so). However, the only lib I know of that's available for download that works with the CD driver is the CD mudlib. Since both driver and mudlib are maintained by the folks at Genesis, I see no need to try to put my nose in the business of their distribution. Others: Amylaar/2.4.5 only has one lib I know of, and it's ably emulated by LD. Anarres has no libs and the developer himself doesn't advise its use. Pike/LPC4 has no public libs I'm aware of.
